From time to time South West Maritime Archaeological Group ("SWMAG") may request personal information from people in order to access parts of the South West Maritime Archaeological Group web site, register for diving, or other reasons. This statement sets out the South West Maritime Archaeological Group policy covering the collection, storage and use of such information.
The type of information collected includes, but is not limited to, a persons name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number(s).
If appropriate, a persons diving qualifications, experience and skills may also be collected.
The SWMAG web site MAY collect and store the IP address and pages visited for logging purposes.
Information collected used solely by SWMAG for the following purposes, dependant on the information collected:
SWMAG maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in the collection, storage and disclosure of personally identifiable information.
SWMAG MAY release information about individuals when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of SWMAG.
SWMAG SHALL NOT sell, rent, share or otherwise disclose personally identifiable information about individuals in a way that is contrary to the commitments made by this policy.
SWMAG MAY release information that does not identify individuals to third parties.
Some pages on the SWMAG web site use "cookies". These are small files that the SWMAG web site places on an individual's computer hard drive for recognition purposes.
These files are used for site customisation during visits to the SWMAG web site.
Cookies cannot read data off of hard drives of any computer.
